Itinerary:

Fall Creek Falls state park has wondeful waterfalls, a nice swimming hole and some trails that we will check out. They are very picturesque waterfalls. Last year when we went there, there wasnt much water, but they were beautiful nevertheless.

We will start at 7:00 AM Saturday from the Busbee park and ride. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to drive to the statepark and so please be at the park and ride at 6:45 AM. We will grab breakfast either at the park restraunt or enroute in Tennessee.

We will be at the park at around 9:30 AM [ All times below are eastern, even though the park is in central ]

1. Scenic Spot: At 9:30 am we will be at the park and this is the first spot that we will be checking out. "The George Hole"

Stop : 1

2. Waterfalls: At about 10:30 we will drive to the nature center, park the cars there and start hiking a loop that starts and finishes at the nature center. After hiking less than a mile, our first stop will be the impressive fall creek falls water fall. We will first admire the views from the top and then hike down to the bottom of the falls and spend some time there. The hike to the bottom of the falls is only 1/4 miles but is very steep. So hiking back to the top of the falls is hard.

3. We will then hike back to the top and finish the loop back to the nature center. Along the path, we will stop at the various look out points on the trail. This section of the trails is only about a mile, but will take time due to the many lookout points. We will take the swinging bridge on the way back and check out the cascade falls. There wasnt much water last year and so we dint see much of a falls. We will take a short break at the nature center.

4. We will take the cable trail down to the swimming hole at the cane creek falls. This is a very steep ( i mean really steep - almost vertical ) trail where you have to scramble down the path using the cable at many places. We will spend the rest of the noon at the swimming hole.

We will start driving back to atlanta after 5/6PM. One the way back, we will stop for dinner in Tennesse. (suggestions for restaurants are welcome :) )

Note1: This is going to be a very leasure hike. But the cable trail is *very* steep.

Note2: There may not be enough water and all you may see is a trickle. I did not go there recently and have no idea about the water levels.
