Itinerary: | |||||||
Due to the high demand for this hike this Saturday, we are opening an Overflow event just 45 min. after the first one, to accommodate more participants. It is an invigorating 6 mi. hike. We will meet at the visitor's center at 8:00 am. to introduce ourselves and get ready to start this beautiful hike. This hike provides plenty of elevation changes and beautiful views of the surrounding area, including downtown Atlanta on clear days. We will start ascending the mountain, to cross both Kennesaw and Little Kennesaw Mountains, and traverse Pigeon Hill to end at Burnt Hickory Rd. When we arrive there, we will take a rest and enjoy our snaks and picture time. We will return the way we came, for a total of six miles. - Intended for intermediate to advanced hikers with prior D3/D4 hiking experience, who don't mind hiking at a D3 pace. However, this is not a beginner hike or a sprint race.
