Itinerary: | |||||||
Enjoy this invigorating 6 mi. hike as Fall begins. The temperature will be in mid-to upper 50's. We will meet at the visitor's center at 8:15 am. to introduce ourselves and get ready to start this beautiful hike. I suggest carpooling to save time looking for parking and gas, at the same time you save the planet while enjoying the company of those who carpool with you. Can you call them carpoolees? Is that a real word? Please make arrangements to be there on-time, as we will not wait for late arrivals. This hike provides plenty of elevation changes and beautiful views of the surrounding area, including downtown Atlanta on clear days. We will start ascending the mountain, to cross both Kennesaw and Little Kennesaw Mountains, and traverse Pigeon Hill to end at Burnt Hickory Rd. When we arrive there, we will take a rest and enjoy our snaks and picture time. We will return the way we came, for a total of six miles. - Intended for intermediate to advanced hikers with prior D3/D4 hiking experience. This is not a beginner hike or a sprint race. Directions to Kennesaw Mountain. | |||||||
