Itinerary:

Cochran Creek Falls is a lesser known GA waterfall, but not due to any lack of beauty. It is very unique and impressive but just involves some rugged, challenging terrain to reach it.

There is an awesome campsite on a flat campground close to base of the falls, with plenty of water resource close to campsite. This campsite is surrounded by trees to provide enough protection from wind.

SATURDAY (Day One)

It will start with a short hike of 1.5 miles towards campsite; we will set up our tents and leave heavy loads. With light day packs, we will leave at 10.30 am for a strenuous hike to the top of Springer Mountain, total hike distance from campsite to Springer and back is 14 miles. Therefore, you must be in good shape to sign up for this event  If you haven't done strenuous hikes with AOC, then trip leader can inquire about your experience.

These are short days and sunset time is 6.06 pm. Therefore it is important we should be back to our campsite before sunset preferably by 5.15-5.30; therefore we must keep a steady pace for our day hike to cover this 14 mile distance.

After getting back to campsite, we will build fire, cook dinner and share campsite stories.

SUNDAY (Day Two)
We will take it easy next morning, won't rush to break the tent and leave. Infact we will cook rich breakfast, drink some coffee. If some participants would like to take short hike one more time to see the fall then we might do it agin. WE WILL BREAK TENTS AND LEAVE CAMPSITE AT OR MAY BE AFTER 10.30AM.

Notes:

COOKING

Cooking at campsite is my favorite activity and would love to see more people testing their outdoor cooking skills, so bring some exciting stuff to cook for dinner and breakfast. We will have plenty of time to cook, enjoy the morning and relax before rushing back to parking lot.

While carpooling back to the city, if there is a concensus then we will stop for a late lunch.

We will get back to town at or around 3.00 PM.

DOGS:

Maximum dog count allowed in this trip is three (3); i.e. first three people who would specifically mark that they are bringing their dogs. Your dog must behave well and friendly with other dogs. Trip leader still got the right to refuse your dog if for any reason if he find out that your dog won't suit in pool; this is irrespective of your number.
