Itinerary:

Join me for another Silent Hike to enjoy the sounds of nature. The silent hike will make you focus on one object rather than your everyday thoughts. We will remain silent for one hour and 15 minutes. 

We will go around the mountain but not to the top of Stone Mountain. It is a nice, wooded trail with plenty of lake views. We will hike approximately 5.5 miles keeping a moderate pace, with few rest stops.

We will meet outside the restrooms at the Confederate Hall (where people climbing the mountain normally start).

There is a $10 parking fee to enter the park. However, free public parking is available in Stone Mountain Village. See directions below. If you park outside, be at least 15 minutes earlier to make the walk into the park.

Directions: To the rear entrance: From I-285 take U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Take Exit 5, stay right for a half mile and then exit to E. Ponce/Stone Mtn. Village. At the end of the ramp turn left. Drive a mile or so into town. Turn left on East Mountain (you will see a German Restaurant on your right) and go straight until you get to the entrance.

You can park for free at the Stone Mountain's visitor center parking lot. 891 Main Street, Stone Mountain; (770) 879-4971. It will be a 15 minutes walk to the park.
