Itinerary:

Please join me for an evening hike on the beautiful trails of the Island Ford unit of the Chattahoochee River Natl Recreation Area (CRNRA).

We will hike along the banks of the Chattahoochee River at a moderate pace. If time permits we will hike part of the newer "lollypop loop."  This is a great hike for beginners as much of our route will be relatively flat with little elevation.

We will meet at the first parking lot on the left after you enter the park from Roberts Drive. The visitors center closes at 5 pm so there will be no restrooms available.

Please call me (770-856-2105) if you are running late because I would like to start on time since sunset is approx 7:50.

Well behaved dogs are welcome but in accordance with park rules, they must be on a leash and under their owner's control at all times.

Please note that there is a $3 cash parking fee unless you have an annual Chattahoochee River Rec parking pass.   Please arrive a few minutes early to pay for parking and check in.

Required Items to Bring:

Water to keep you hydrated
Headlamp or flashlight since it is starting to get dark earlier
No flip flops or shoes without a back strap
$3 cash for parking or annual valid parking pass

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Bug spray
Hiking poles if you use them
Epi pen if you are allergic to insect stings
Inhaler if you need it
