Write Up:Sunday afternoon turned out to be a fine time for being outdoors, with nary a drop of rain and in the "balmy" mid-50s. The scenery and side trails were so nice that we ended up hiking about 6 miles and exploring virtually all of the public parklands in the "Mason Mill - Medlock corridor."
Along the way we enjoyed the amazing variety of fascinating flora, both native and non-native - also witnessed exciting "avian action": a big red-tailed hawk being mobbed by crows, a great blue heron taking flight from the lake, and songbirds flitting through the foliage.
This has become one of my favorite "go-to" outdoor venues here in my own NE Atlanta community and this hike certainly did not disappoint.
Thanks to Martha for joining our fine Club the other day and choosing this as your first AOC event. It was fun having you with us and getting to know you!
