Wow! What a wonderful group of hikers seized the day today! The dozen of us did a great job staying together to get a good workout and share some lively conversation. When we stopped in the cave near the end of the trail, this trip leader was blown away by the creativity and passion displayed by the group. We were treated to poetry and prose by Joyce Kilmer, Orson Welles, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, Bruce Springsteen, Scott Mcintire, and John Lennon and Paul McCartney, among others.
We all indulged in some "Natural Therapy" as we escaped the hot town, "Summer in the City." A special treat was a live harmonica performance of the "End of the Summer Blues." The weather cooperated nicely with an exactly perfect mix of blue sky, sunshine, and cooling breeze.
Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow.
Try to remember and if you remember
then follow....
Follow.
A warmhearted thanks to each one of you. We are awesome!
