The chilliest day this year for hiking at Island Ford . . . but once we made it up the "warm-up" hill, we were cozy. The sun tended to drop behind cloud cover, making the light perfect for pictures! On one of he trails, lots of deer rubs were spotted, indicating that the rut has started.  We covered 5.7 miles today at a brisk pace, followed by another friendly lunch at the North River Tavern. ~ Joyce
