Thank goodness our weeks of rain cleared for our New Year's Day hike. Our group of 12 hikers enjoyed 8.25 miles of trail this morning at Island Ford. The weather was a bit cool which made it easier to maintaing a fast pace and enjoy the hike. While we were hiking we saw three deers in the woods and a herion along the river. Unfortunately, I could not get to my camera fast enough. In either case, this was an excellent way to kick off the New Year! Thanks everyone and have a Happy New Year!!!
