If the weather for this first week of the new year is any indication, we should have lots of great hiking days ahead.  Even though it is nippy at the start, as soon as you warm up the crisp cool air is refreshing and enables us to continue effortlessly over the miles. Our group enjoyed a wonderful hike today.  A word of caution though, when we attempted the lollipop trail we found it flooded along the river. Heavy rains at the close of 2015 filed some lakes in the area. It may be a couple of weeks before this section dries due to continued release from the dams north of this location. Perhaps check with the visitors center first if you plan to hike the loop.  Joyce and I enjoyed kicking off the New Year with you all. Wishing you the best in 2016!  ~Trish
