We had a cool, dry day to traverse the Appalachian Trail.  By the time we climbed up out of Dick’s Creek Gap everyone was de-layering.  The trail alternated between comfortable sunshine and views to the east and cool breezy views to the west.  On either side of the ridge we were treated to wonderful views of the Appalachian Mountains stretching to horizon.  We had the good fortunate to meet “Deja Through”, a through hiker within days of completing her south bound through hike.  She was very gracious and answered all our questions.  The day was capped off by a hardy dinner, in Clayton, enjoyed by everyone.
