Hats off to our numerous AOCers who "gave back" to the river by pitching in today with this big annual cleanup that's always lots of fun! Our Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and CRNRA hosts did a bangup job coordinating everything. Our various paddling and walking teams removed thousands of pounds of refuse from the river and its islands and riverbanks. Those of us who focused on the Powers Island to Paces Mill river section in NW Atlanta enjoyed stops at beautiful places along the river under the clear blue sky. It was also a pleasure getting to know many nice volunteers from the public at large. - Submitted by Charlie, Sat. 3:00 PM
