Write Up:
We had a beautiful sunny day, and started the hike at noon with the temps already in the upper 60s....lots of lovely fall colors and a great group. We started out with a little hill and walked to the northern end of the park to view the remains of historic Jones Bridge. After stopping at an overlook beside the river, we moved south...following the Chattahoochee for a couple of miles and then headed uphill and into the woods where it was comfortably cool. We hiked through a field and down to the monkeybars just outside the southern border of the park. We took a lunch break at some picnic tables and traded some trail stories, then headed back. We had eight new members on this hike and they seemed to have a good time...hope to see them on future events.
