The temperature felt cooler for our hike this morning, though the overall heat and humidity are keeping people home much more than in past summers. We hiked 5.5 miles and saw some exciting sights, including a pretty doe and a gigantic mushroom. We also saw a little tree with fruit - - which we need help identifying. And we climbed over a fallen tree-obstacle that Susan will report to the park rangers.

Welcome to Bette - - our newest addition to the Thursday morning family.  She had no trouble keeping up with us and even joined our lunch group.  Hopefully, she will become our newest "regular"!  ~  Joyce
