Libby put me up front for today's fast-paced hike, and I did my best to live up to the description. Clothing layers came off soon after we started, and despite the cool afternoon temperatures, we managed to work up a sweat. The reward of a tough hike is the appreciation the group expresses for being pushed hard . . . and pushed we all were!  

We took a little break at the ruins of the old homestead - - a secret place that was new to most of the group. It's an interesting site deep in the woods that makes for some great photos. ~ Joyce
