A soft bed of leaves awaited us at Island Ford today.  We changed up the route a little by starting our hike going around the little pond as a warm up.  But make no mistake, we did not forgo our big hill.  We went straight to that after the pond.  Felt as if winter has finally arrived as we all had on our hats, gloves and jackets.  The cooler temps allowed us to hike at a nice pace with very few rest periods.  Saw Rick and Willow along the way and of course, Willow had to welcome us all!! It was good to see her on the trails.  Great group - great way to spend a Thursday morning.  See you next week!! ~ Carol
