It wasn't a bright, sunny morning, but it was dry - - so we were quite lucky to have the weather-gods give us a 2-hour rain-free hike. The trails were soft and quiet due to the recent rain and we had the woods practically to ourselves. We hiked here and there, turning around at the cemetery and getting back to the trailhead just before noon. We clocked in just short of 5 miles, which was just to my liking for a D2 "beginners welcome" hike.

No newbies this morning. Just a gathering of comfortable, friendly folks.  We'll certainly be happy to have Trena back leading the Monday morning hikes after the crunch of the season sets her free again. ~ Joyce
