Write Up:Finally, a break in the weather, enabling us to get in a great hike at Gold Branch this morning. For those who haven't tried hiking in the woods, it's a very therapeutic experience, allowing people to put aside their cares and just be mindless for a couple of hours. Whether talking with someone or simply walking in silence, there's nothing better for the soul.
Sadly, the old jalopy wreck has been damaged even further. The identifying photo that had been attached to the car is no longer there, and the roof has been stomped on, causing the entire car to seem to sink into the ground.
We avoided the rock scrambling section by Bull Sluice Lake, choosing instead to get in our 4 miles on the inner trails This seemed a safer option, considering the damp trails. No mud, however . . . just soft, leaf-covered pathways. ~ Joyce
