Write Up:A first-time hiking location for everyone but Trena today! This trail extends for over 10 miles, going all the way to Marietta Square! However, we were able to go just a little over 2 miles before we turned around, taking a break at the Town Center Mall food court for some refreshments before finishing our hike.
We started the hike in light sprinkles, but within a few minutes, the clouds disappeared and we transitioned from overcast skies to sunshine. Sights along the trail were interesting as we passed under roads, walked past apartment complexes, travelled behind the mall, crossed some streets, and eventually retraced our route.
Urban hiking is different . . . with cement instead of natural surfaces; such a hike enables folks to take their eyes off the trail and look around at the scenery since there are no rocks or roots to watch for.
Another great location to add to our repertoir of hiking trails! ~ Joyce
