Sun, Apr 23 2017 - Sunday Morning at Island Ford- Lollipop and More (View Original Event Details)
|
Only hike on the calendar this dark, dreary Sunday BUT hike was a success.
11 hikers - a few rain drops, Island Ford was lush with vegetation. One beautiful box turtle, one dead salamander, a great blue heron (that we scared away), a hawk which I missed and that got scared off too. And Donna was able to locate a plaque (with Daveo's help) dedicated to Elliott Levitas - who she has worked with - the plaque commemorates Elliott's involvement in helping to get our beautiful Chattahoochee parks developed. I found a video about his life on You Tube - where he is dubbed the "Champion of the Chattahoochee". Thank you all for joining me this morning.
