This is just the beginning!  The heat and humidity are starting to build and one can expect that this  trend will continue to spiral upward.  But, our hardy group came prepared with plently of fluids so we were in great shape as we made our way around the various trails of Island Ford covering a good 5.5 miles.  Sightings along the trail today:  several deer, a turtle off to  the  side of the trail while hiking along the pond, and a lovely black snake that slithered in front of us towards the end of the hike. Great group of hikers today that tolerated the temperature change quite well!  We are all looking forward to next week's hike which will mark the THIRD Birthday of our weekly Thursday Morning Island Ford Hike.
