What a comfortable hike we had today at Island Ford. Trena's "Beginners Welcome" hike series take a much more moderate pace than the weekly fitness hikes at this park . . . allowing time for pictures - - and today afforded some great opportunities. We saw a Western Pond turtle, ducks sunning on a log, a cormorant, and even a rat snake. Trena thinks the weather is warming up enough to begin her applauded popsicle hikes! Next Monday's hike might be the first of the season! ~ Joyce
