We had a great group of energetic hikers today for our hike at Kennesaw Mountain.  Today we covered a few of the lesser used trails at Kennesaw covering 4.5 miles in a little under 2 hours.  

First we hiked the 24 Gun Trail trail.  Along the way, we learned a little about the history of the area including the difference between a Parrott (no, not the bird) and a Napoleon Cannon.  Next we did a small loop on one of the well used but unofficial trails of Kennesaw through an open field.  On the way back to the Visitor’s Center we completed the Environmental Loop trail.  

We finished our hike back at Trena’s Car where we celebrated our accomplishment with popsicles which were greatly appreciated in the somewhat muggy weather.  All in all, a great way to spend a Monday morning.
