Write Up:Gold Branch - 6 eager hikers ready to brave the weather - 8:00 light, light sprinkle. could hear some raindrops hitting the tree tops but rain did not reach the hikers. Did the outside trail (along the water). It was muddy, it was slipperly in spots but again we stayed relatively dry until about 9:30 - we were about a 15 minutes hike from the parking lot and the skies just opened up. No shelter to be found. Could not run, too many roots. Could not see - glasses needed windsheild wipers and I can't see without the glasses either. We were all soaked to the bone. But a thoroughly enjoyable hike. A beautiful box turtle, a great blue heron, a super fast rowing scull. I am so glad that I didn't cancel.
