Sun, Jul 30 2017 - Night hike at Mason Mill Park just after this evening’s AOC Social (View Original Event Details) Trip Leader(s): Charlie Cottingham, Kym Participants: Charlie Cottingham, Kym, Adrian L

 It was a clear and not-so-humid midsummer night to go for a hike at Mason Mill. Charlie with his newest mentee, Kym, led the hike with new member Adrien.  All 3 of them live in Decatur, so each of them had been to the park many times on their own. With head lamps ready, the 3 headed towards Medlock Park, starting out on the paved PATH. Then, because Kym and Adrien had not hiked through the unpaved trails yet, Charlie took them on a little adventure, through the woods, towards Melton Park and beyond. Then they hiked along the railroad tracks to make their way back to Mason Mill to walk the rest of the way along the new PATH extension. Through the break in the canopy of the trees, they stopped to do a little star-gazing and to find Jupiter. At the end of the 3.5 mile hike, everyone was ready for shower and bed.
