Sun, Sep 17 2017 - Beautiful Morning Hike on the Eastside Beltline (View Original Event Details)
|
A fun day was had by all on this 8.5-mile urban hike on the famous Atlanta Beltline.
The 8 members (inluding new member Nora) met at the Publix at Ansley Mall and hiked the perimeter of Piedmont Park. Music Midtown was just underway, so they got to enjoy some free music on the sly. They made their way to the paved portion of the Beltline through the Old Fourth Ward. Half of the members had never been on the Beltline before and were fascinated with all the art on display.
They preceded to the old Krog Street Tunnel for photo ops of the street art all through the tunnel. They then turned around and stopped at Krog Street Market for a quick bite to eat and some free sparkling water. And for dessert, they detoured through Inman Park for cold treats at King of Pops. They concluded their hike back on the Beltline and then along Monroe Drive to their waiting cars at Ansley Mall.
Thanks to Sue for letting me co-lead with her. And thanks to the members for joining us!
