It was a perfect evening for a walk in the park. Temperatures were in the low 70s with a slight breeze blowing through our hair. 

Six ladies of the AOC showed up to join me for my first solo hike. Most had been to the park before to hike on their own, a couple were discovering its boardwalk beauty for the very first time. All agreed that it was better to do it in such good company.

We stuck to the paved and boardwalked trail for most of the hike until we got to Medlock Park, where the tiniest Little Leaguers were practicing. So to not distract them from their eyes on the ball, we took a detour and walked a little bit on the unpaved trail.
