The 11 mile hike was punctuated by beautiful views, friendly conversation, oooohs and ahs at the rhododendron and mountain laurel tunnels, and gasps of amazement at the huge trees that occasionally hugged the trails.  

We did the loop, starting at the Approach Trail, crossing to the Len Foote Inn, and ultimately returning to our cars via the Len Foote Trail. The way up was challenging and the return was long . . . but on this beautiful day with crisp air and clear skies, we enjoyed every mile. ~ Joyce
