Sat, Dec 16 2017 - Wokking on Buford Highway (View Original Event Details)
|
What a lovely day for a walk on Chamblee's Buford Highway. It started off chilly, but warmed up pretty nicely during our walk.
Everyone agreed that it was a fun hike. We probably gained 10 pounds today after trying Vietnamese sandwiches (banh mi) at Quoc Huong, and then Asian baked goods (at two different bakeries in the same square). We also sampled so many free goodies at the Buford Highway Farmer's Market. All that before we stopped for lunch at Bobo Garden Chinese Restaurant and split several entrees between us. Then off for some more snacks of rolled ice cream at ICENY and fried tofu at Saigon Tofu. Haha.
Believe it or not, we actually did 7.85 miles of walking today! That's more than the 6.5 miles that was mapped out, but we just couldn't stop walking from one place to another, wanting to savor it all.
Here we all are (minus camera-shy Gayle) near the start of our hike at Chinatown.
Thank you, everyone, for joining me on this cultural exploration.
