It sometimes happens . . . the park was open for hiking and biking when we checked yesterday, but things changed overnight and we saw the "trails closed" sign upon reaching the parking lot. Plan B became hiking on non-biking trails on both sides of the river and beyond. The trails were indeed muddy, but at least the rain stopped for our hike.  

Paula S. joined us (Olde Rope Mill is practically her back yard) as well as two new members - - Jennifer R. and Chunmo - - who took advantage of the President's Day holiday to join a weekday hike. Speaking of presidents, Trena opened our hike with each of the group naming their favorite president. It would have been a hands-down "Trena" were it not for the stiuplation that it had to be a U.S. President.  

We were happy to see Larry's pup, Olive, today. Olive's age is showing a bit, especially since she now has diabetes and has to have insulin injections twice a day. ~ Joyce
