Sat, Mar 3 2018 - Carpe Diem Amicalola to Springer Mountain (View Original Event Details)

We seized the day, and took comfort in the rich and random patterns of life. Along the way, we encountered: The crunch of hoarfrost beneath our feet. A Boy Scout troop escorting their Scoutmaster to the first white blaze of his journey toward Katahdin. Several other thru hikers carrying hopes and dreams along with their bulky packs. Two moonstones, one black and one white. A hapless spider attempting to spin a web across the trail. Adorable, friendly dogs. Cooling breezes. The faint, musky carrion scent of galax plants lining the trail. An explosion of forsythia. Loads of Vitamin D. Brownies at the Hike Inn. A cameo appearance by Clay and Elvi.
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day.
Look all around, there's nothin' but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin' but blue skies...
