Another glorious Friday with beautiful weather.  A bit chilly with the wind when we began but it warmed up nicely.  We hiked first along the Chattahoochee and then crossed the first of our pipes to reach "the Frontier" as we transited several unofficial trails. 

When we neared the Power/Hyde home we had a surprise guest who explained in great detail about the Powers and Hyde families that lived and farmed the land we were hiking through for over 150 years. 

We did a loop down near the river before crossing the ridge line one last time and then hiking along Mulberry Creek where we got to test our balance as we rock hopped across the creek about 8-10 times.  Finally we passed the marsh area that was filled with many very large turtles before reaching our cars and the end of the hike.  All in all, a great way to spend a Friday morning.  ~ Holt
