Thursday morning, May 17th!  Just another day -  No not really!  1600 hikes but who's counting?  We are!  But what a crazy day.  80% chance of rain and it turned out to be just a normal, humid Thursday monring hike.  Because of the chance of rain, we opted to start at 11:00 instead of 10:30 and started at the Visitor's Center in case we needed to bring the festivities inside.  But no, the Joyce bubble pervailed and we were able to hike without rain and hold all the festivities outside.  Joyce was presented with posters, a 1600th event rock, a bandana, a photo, a crocheted crown,  and a rock with hikers on it.  Did I miss anything? And we did hike covering a good 4 and 1/2 miles in 1 1/2 hours - not a bad pace whatsoever.  We continued the celebrations at North River Tavern with 22 hikers, quite a bit of merriment and a cake to boot!  Pictures will be posted to cover all the details of our day!
