Fri, May 11 2018 - Sweetwater Creek Eastside Trails and Mill Ruins (View Original Event Details)
|
Another great Friday hike. This week we were at Sweetwater Creek State Park. We got to enjoy hiking in a beautiful park with some very interesting trails. You would never know you were less than 10 miles from downtown Atlanta. Although we visited the haunting ruins of the very large cotton mill that was burned during the Civil war near the end of our hike, we actually spent most of our time hiking across the creek on the Orange and Yellow trails.
Our hike was a pretty good work out with nearly 900 feet of elevation gain over 6.5 miles. We had two relatively new members of the club on the hike today so a special welcome to Jamie and Jackie. We look forward to seeing you on future AOC events. ~ Holt
