We had 18 regulars on today's hike plus a brand new couple (friends of Patty's) who will certainly prove to be eagerly sought participants on future hikes. Tom and Karin are terrific individuals and a great couple.

As we hiked through the Burnt Hickory section of the KMB, Trena, Allan, Doug, and others tried their best to give some of the history of the area - - but no one does it like Holt, who is now hiking on the AT and won't be with us for a couple of weeks. Trena even posed for a signature-Holt- photo which is included in the album.

Breezes throughout the hike felt wonderful, and we were treated to yet another turtle laying her eggs beside the trail (It's the 4th egg-laying turtle I've seen in the last couple of weeks), and we saw lots of flowering weeds along the trails.
