What a fantastic visit to Red Top Mountain State Park.  It was overcast the entire hike which helped keep the temps down on the hike but we got a good sweat on as we covered almost 6 miles in a little over 2 hours.  We did and out and back on the White Tail trail before tackling the entire Homestead Loop.  We did another mile on the other side of Lodge Road before arriving back at the parking lot. 

During our hike we were near Lake Allatoona numerous times and the views were great.  The hot weather almost made us want to jump in for a dip.  After the event was over, several of us grabbed a picnic table down near the lake and enjoyed a quick lunch before heading home.  ~ Holt
