It's great to once again hike with Tony C., my mentor as a trip leader for the AOC. He was co-lead for this hike in Trena's absence. (She's doing a little 100 mile race in France right now!)

The air had a cool tinge to it for the first hour, but the heat and humidity soon had us all sweating.

A bit of excitement on the hike. I placed a trail rock right in the path of a copperhead. I didn't even see it, but those behind me certainly did. I took some photos of it, but it's barely visible even close-up! I was lucky! ~ Joyce
