Did we have great weather for our hike at West Palisades this morning or what? Lowest humidity for the past few months made climbing all the hills in West Palisades so much more enjoyable. After heading down to the river level, we walked out to the West Palisades beach and enjoyed watching the huge variety of birds hanging out in the river. On the way back we passed about 30 fire fighters and other first responders who were training for white water rescues.
Afterwards we headed back up the ridge to cross the park over to the Bob Callan trail. Next was another walk along the river and then the second big climb to get back to the ridge line again. Along the way, we saw so many deer in the park including a few bucks. Finally we arrived back at our cars and the end of our hike. We finished our 4.5 mile hike in almost exactly 2 hours. What a great way to kick off the weekend. ~ Holt
