Write Up:We and a couple of friendly canine companions had a fine time together this morning on this adventurous "double-header" hike. After about about 2 hours exploring Frazier-Rowe and Briarlake Forest parks, Dan (and his dog Jack), Mark, Janice, Norm and I drove a couple of miles northward for a "bonus" half-hour hike down to a very pretty creek and its adjoining ruins of an old homestead at Mary Scott Nature Park. It was fun having new member Janice with us on her very first event - also we enjoyed having newly active AOCers JP and Hazel with us - close friends who are both originally from Dominica in the Caribbean. It was a blessing on this Monday outing to have beautiful "Indian summer" weather and light holiday traffic. - Submitted by Charlie, Labor Day afternoon
