Hi everyone,

Thanks for joining the Blood Mountain hike on Columbus Day.  We finally had some relief from the hot summer that has continued into fall.  Although the skies were a bit threatening (I thought for sure we'd get rained on at some point), we made our way up the Slaughter Creek trail to our eventual destination on the rock adjacent to the Blood Mountain shelter.  After enjoying lunch together, we ambled east for more views of the Georgia Appalachians.  On the descent, we brushed past many different flowers that were still in bloom.
