Write Up:We experienced a remarkable trek in the high Andes. We were so close to 20,000 ft. Salkantay Mountain that it felt like we could reach out and touch it. This truly is a spectacular way to hike to Machu Picchu. Remote, rugged and breath-taking, it is the path less traveled (we were the only hikers on this 38 mile journey back to civilization) We saw hummingbirds and condors and ancient temple ruins yet to be excavated. We were exposed to the culture of the Inca on the trek, in Cusca and the Sacred Valley. We enjoyed the fine foods of Lima. This was one incredible journey!
