We had 17 hikers for our jaunt around East Palisades this morning.  We headed out to the north end of the park first and did a few climbs before reaching the Poppi's Point observation deck.  We headed down to the river level and along the way visited the cave that Native Americans lived in several thousand years ago.  While walking along the river, the level is still quite high and some of the trail was washed out.  Our final leg was to hike up the central trail by the cliffs before reaching the road and the way back to the parking lot.  We covered 5.2 miles and nearly 800 feet of elevation gain.  

We had a brand new AOC member on todays hike.  Michael was on his very first hike and we look forward to seeing him on future AOC events.  ~ Holt
