We had several new or new-to-Sope-Creek members on today's hike through Sope Creek and Cochran Shoals. It was a cool, crisp morning, so we shared the trails with several bikers and runners. It was certainly a perfect day to be outside. 

After circling the pond (which was a smooth as glass), we made a loop through Cochran Shoals and eventually up the trail to the cemetery. Then we made a long perimeter loop around Sope Creek, passing the ruins and ultimately getting back to the parking lot. We were out a little longer than planned whick accounts for our clocking in over 6.2 miles this morning. Not a bad way to start the weekend!

We welcomed three new members (lucia, Michael S., and Dan L.) and Judith, who was on just her 12th AOC event. ~ Joyce
