West Palisade is one of the most popular unit in Chattahoochee system. After usual introduction, chit chat and attendance we hit the trail on time. Initial pathway was concrete before we made our turn into the woods which was our initial trench of uphill hike; nice and necessary for warm-up. After few tricky turns including a discovery of an un-marked trail we re-grouped for our break. It was our halfway point at the sandy bank of the river; right across from jumping rock (many people have memories about this place). Though it felt dark in the wood but early rising fireflies brought some sparks. Once out of the woods we realized that there are plenty of daylight time still left, we made it back on time 8.30PM .
