What a spectacular conclusion to the wildflower hikes - just wonderful - checkout the pictures on the AOC FB page.  Kudos to the trail maintenance crew for their work on the Bartram Trail.  The weather held up nicely for our 11.9 miles and 3266 feet of elevation gain.  I learned the difference between Big Scaly, Scaly, and Little Scaly (all in North Carolina) with USGS maps.  We were on Scaly.  The spur trail that I thought would be a part of a loop is actually a spur trail to a relay tower.  And the 'other' spur trail was to a nice smallish 20 - 30 foot waterfall.  The team had good woodland spirits for the day.
