Tax Day - - yet we had a full complement of hikers for our Monday morning hike at East Palisades! What better way to get our minds off unpleasantries! PLUS, today was extra special because it was Shirley's 600th AOC event! Linda even brought 3 varieties of cupcakes to celebrate the event!

Since the trails promised to be very muddy today today, we spent some of the hike exploring what lay up Riverview Road - - a place where we usually take a turn to stay in the park. The houses along the road were magnificent, and we event found an old, abandoned house that reminded us of Leita Thompson's second home.

We missed having Trena with us today. She got first place (age group) in an extraordinary Hellbender 100 mile race up Mt. Mitchell and she definitely needed to recuperate this morning! ~ Joyce
