This morning was a hot and muggy one with some threatening clouds but the rain never came and we managed to get a nice little hike in.  We took off towards the warm up hill with Susan, Michelle and Russ going at it but in the end, Russ was victorious.  If you ask Susan and Michelle, they let him get the lead right at the end!  LOL!  We did go around the entire lollipop trail today hoping to get a river breeze but that never happened!  But we did manage a good 5.5 miles with close to 800 feet of elevation and that was with taking numerous water breaks!  This group of hikers rock!  Sunae, from Arizona and a long time AOC hiker, was able to join us this morning.  She was in time visiting family and friends and made it a point to sign up for our Thursday Morning Hike.  I think that says it all - we are one big Family!  See you next week. ~ Carol
