Write Up:Another great hike at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. For this hike we focuses on the central portion of the park. We headed south from the Burnt Hickory parking lot and did a figure eight using the Hardage Mill and Noses Creek trails. We next took the New Salem Church trail before heading to Pigeon Hill where we learned a bit about the 1864 battle that occured there. During our hike we saw several miles of earthworks that were manned during the battle and marveled at how well preserved they were. We finished back at the parking lot, completing our 5 mile hike and about 800 feet of elevation in 2 hours. ~ Holt
