It used to be rain, rain go away.  Now it's heat and humidity;  please go away!!  Today was a very hot one with temps in the 80's at the start of the hike.  We opted to not go up the warmup hill and stay off the roads to avoid the sun as much as possible.  The river looked quite mystical with some mist still coming off of it.  It also had some beautiful color to it. Today we slowed our pace down a little to make sure everyone stayed hydrated and safe.  Going along the river did provide some relief but it was still a hot one.  Allen went to work on the rebars knocking about 6 to 8 of them into the ground.  So no competitions today to see who got up the hill first;  just some nice gentle hiking (5 miles) and some great companionship! ~ Carol
